Boeing ($BA) shares fell 10.69% to $168.18 as of Oct 27, 4:00 PM ET, on the day the company reported third-quarter revenue of $24.2 billion, which it tied to higher defense and services volume and a less favorable mix of commercial jet deliveries. Boeing posted a loss of 26 cents a share under standard accounting rules (GAAP) and a core loss, its adjusted measure, of 34 cents a share.
The longer story is the factory floor. CEO Kelly Ortberg said on the earnings call that Boeing is targeting a production rate of 52 planes a month in the second half of 2027, CNBC reported. The company has been building about 47 of its 737 Max planes a month, according to CNBC.
SoFi Technologies ($SOFI) went the other way, with shares up 13.42% to $16.40 as of Oct 27, 4:00 PM ET. The company said adjusted net revenue rose 44% from a year earlier to $1.4 billion, and adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) rose 70% to $469.8 million. Members grew 35% to 17.1 million, including a record 1.2 million added in the quarter, and total loan originations hit a record $16.9 billion.
JetBlue Airways ($JBLU) shares rose 18.99% to $2.82 as of Oct 27, 4:00 PM ET, the day after it reported third-quarter results on Monday. CEO Joanna Geraghty said in the release: “Resilient demand and strong yields drove revenue well ahead of our initial expectations, allowing us to recapture more of the increase in fuel costs than we initially expected.” Chief Financial Officer Ursula Hurley pointed further out: “Importantly, we believe we have the liquidity and financing options to create a strong bridge to at least $1 EPS and positive free cash flow in 2028.” That is a target, not a result.
Robinhood Markets ($HOOD) missed Wall Street's profit estimates, as slower cryptocurrency trading and higher expenses offset strong activity in options and prediction markets, Reuters reported via CNA. Robinhood earned 51 cents a share, below the 55 cents analysts expected, according to LSEG estimates cited by Reuters. CNBC reported that net income fell to $468 million, or 51 cents a share, from $556 million, or 61 cents, a year earlier, and that transaction-based revenue of $867 million came in below StreetAccount's $879 million estimate.
Royal Caribbean Group ($RCL) reported third-quarter earnings of $6.45 a share, or $6.57 adjusted, which it said beat its own guidance thanks to strong close-in demand and lower costs due to timing. The company now expects full-year adjusted earnings of $17.85 to $17.95 a share.
Coca-Cola said net revenue grew 7% to $13.4 billion and organic revenue (non-GAAP) also grew 7%, driven by a 7% increase in concentrate sales and 1% growth in price/mix. Earnings per share grew 8% to 93 cents; on a comparable (non-GAAP) basis they grew 11% to 91 cents. “Our results this quarter demonstrate our system’s sustained momentum, giving us confidence in our updated full year guidance,” CEO Henrique Braun said.
Hilton Worldwide ($HLT) shares fell 2.06% to $344.65 as of Oct 27, 4:00 PM ET. The company projected full-year 2026 RevPAR, or revenue per available room, to rise 4.0% to 4.5% on a comparable, currency-neutral basis, with full-year net income of $1,909 million to $1,923 million and adjusted EBITDA of $4,060 million to $4,080 million.
